Common Questions

What is areola restoration?

Areola restoration is a specialized paramedical tattoo procedure designed to recreate or enhance the appearance of the areola and nipple area after surgery, breast reconstruction, mastectomy, trauma, or pigment loss. Custom pigments are carefully selected to achieve a natural-looking result.

Results typically last several years depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and aftercare. Periodic color refresh appointments may be recommended to maintain optimal results.

Am I a good candidate for areola restoration or scar camouflage?

The number of sessions varies depending on the area being treated, scar condition, and desired result. Most clients require 1–3 sessions for optimal results.

What is scar camouflage?
Is the procedure painful?

Scar camouflage is a treatment that uses custom-matched pigments to help blend scars with the surrounding skin tone. It can improve the appearance of surgical scars, injury scars, stretch marks, and other skin imperfections once they are fully healed.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Most clients are good candidates if the area has fully healed and there is no active irritation, infection, or ongoing medical treatment affecting the skin. A consultation is recommended to determine the best treatment plan.

How long is the healing process?

Most clients experience minimal discomfort. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to help keep you comfortable throughout the treatment.

How long do the results last?

Initial healing typically takes 7–14 days. The treated area may appear darker immediately after the procedure and gradually soften as it heals. Full healing and color stabilization can take several weeks.

Will I need a touch-up?

Avoid alcohol, excessive caffeine, tanning, and blood-thinning medications (unless prescribed by your physician) for 24 hours before your appointment. Please arrive with clean skin and follow any additional preparation instructions provided during your consultation.

Is the procedure safe?

No. Scar camouflage does not remove a scar or change its texture. The goal is to reduce its visibility by blending the color with the surrounding skin, creating a more natural appearance.

What aftercare should I follow?

Yes. Most clients benefit from a touch-up appointment approximately 6–8 weeks after the initial procedure to perfect color, symmetry, and overall appearance.

Can scar camouflage completely remove a scar?

Yes. We use sterile, single-use needles, professional pigments, and follow strict sanitation protocols to ensure the highest level of safety and hygiene.

How many sessions will I need?

Keep the treated area clean and dry, avoid excessive sweating, swimming, tanning, and direct sun exposure during healing. Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided after your appointment.
